The agent of Yaya Toure has issued an ultimatum to the club.
Toure's current contract at Manchester City runs out in 2015 and the Ivorian has reportedly been locked in negotiation to extend his deal for the past six months.
His agent, Dimitri Seluk, revealed the frustration at the club's reluctance to agree on a deal, especially when the player has not asked for a pay rise.
"If he signs a contract in the next three or four days, okay. If not, we will not wait any longer and will start negotiations with different clubs," Seluk is quoted as saying in The Sun.
"Today is Tuesday, so it means by Saturday. We will say 'Thank you. Okay, Yaya will leave in May.'
"I do not feel he will stay at City. This is not about money. He wants to leave because of many reasons. He is one of the best players at Manchester City but does not feel the respect of the staff. Only Roberto Mancini respects Yaya."
Toure is in his third year with City, which means that he will be able to activate the FIFA-sanctioned clause in which players are allowed to buy out their contract to leave the club at the end of the season.
Seluk added: "It's all strange. It's not normal to have negotiations for six months about a contract. They have been talking about small details all this time. "
Maybe if the owner speaks to Yaya, maybe he doesn't know the details."
